Materials for Maintenance & Capital Works
|
PfH launched the Materials for Maintenance and Capital Works
Agreement in May 2007. As well as using the consortiums
buying power to save £millions in direct costs, this
agreement benefits from a ground-breaking new Account Card
system.
|
 |
Over the previous 12 months PfH carried out a successful trial
of this new system and the contract to supply Materials for Maintenance
and Capital Works has now been awarded to: Burdens;
Grafton Group; Jewson; Plumbing
Trade Supplies (PTS); and United Merchants (Unimer).
What does the Materials for Maintenance and Capital Works deal
offer?
- The deal includes more than 30,000 competitively priced products
available from thousands of outlets and constantly monitored and
managed by PfH.
- The PfH Account Card system provides comprehensive management
information and highly efficient transaction processing. Transactions
can be linked to job numbers for security, job costing and internal
auditing.
- Where operatives are typically processing large numbers of low
value transactions, the Account Card will substantially reduce
administration costs.
- Rebates are managed through the supply chain to create low net
prices. Manufacturers only deal with PfH and Merchants, and no
rebate is passed on to contractors.
- The inclusion of United Merchants (Unimer), a co-operative of
over 1000 merchants, means Members can support local business
sustainability through the agreement.
Tried and tested.
The Materials for Maintenance and Capital Works Agreement has been
through a rigorous 12 month trial in conjunction with the Account
Card System. As a result almost 50 Members are already using the
agreement successfully. Organisations such as: Circle Anglia; Eden
Housing Association; Heart of England Housing Association; MHS Homes;
and Worcester Community Homes are now generating significant efficiencies.
If you would like to speak to a PfH Member already using the Account
Card System, please let us know and we can arrange this for you.
