What do you need from a Debt Collection and Tenancy Fraud Agreement?

23rd November, 2010

Following a request from the NHF and feedback from regional consortia, PfH is in the process of tendering a new Agreement for Debt Collection and Tenancy Fraud Services to help Members collect outstanding debts from their tenants and former tenants.

This is a critical area for the sector to achieve substantial cost savings and meet the Government’s efficiency savings. However, central to achieving this, PfH needs to understand Members’ specific requirements.

So far, Member feedback has highlighted a requirement for two lots encompassing:

1.    Debt Management

  • To provide trace and collect facility

  • To chase former tenant arrears

  • To provide ethical suppliers who will not use ‘bully-boy’ tactics to collect outstanding debt

  • To provide a service that can provide regular feedback on cases to know where they are up to in the process and whether they are having any difficulty.

2.    Tenancy Fraud.

  • To feature a supplier who has the capability and software provision to track illegal subletting activity

However, we want to know what your organisation needs from a Debt Collection and Tenancy Fraud Agreement, so get in touch by emailing drichardson@procurementforhousing.co.uk.
