Last chance to attend the HouseMark Procurement Clubs.
21st September, 2010
HouseMark would like to invite PfH Members to participate in the last of this initial round of clubs scheduled to take place on 29th September in Central London.
The purpose of the clubs is to provide good practice support and advice to staff working on procurement in social housing organisations. The club format is based on the precedent of the HouseMark performance improvement clubs which have run successfully for a number of years. The club meetings are of interest both to senior managers responsible for procurement strategy and staff involved in operational procurement activity.
Procurement for Housing (PfH) is supporting HouseMark with these events. However, the club meetings are ‘learning events' rather than promotional opportunities for suppliers.
With this in mind, the first round of clubs has focused on avoiding procurement fraud and developing fraud response plans, contract award criteria and evaluating tenders and avoiding contractor challenges.
At a time when the role of procurement is becoming increasingly important in the context of the new Government's drive for increased efficiency and value for money, HouseMark and PfH have received positive feedback from these first events.
