Do you have the vision to lead PfH?

7th July, 2010

After six years of unprecedented growth, PfH are looking for two new Advisory Committee Members to lead the consortium on to even greater success, and drive the strategy, professionalism and innovation that will create long-term efficiencies.  Membership is based on a three year term with Members then being nominated to the existing committee for re-election if they choose.

The Advisory Committee is responsible for advising CEL and HouseMark on whether the management of the Consortium meets the needs of the social housing sector.

The core values of the Advisory Committee consist of:

  • Helping to make PfH the best procurement consortium within the sector; informing PfH of key sector attributes to enable PfH to provide services that meet the needs of the sector;

  • Promoting the spirit of collaborative procurement to best meet the needs of the housing sector;

  • Acting as enablers on behalf of PfH in promoting effective procurement throughout the sector;

  • enabling PfH to support both directly and indirectly the relationship between HouseMark, CIH and the National Housing Federation;

  • Contributing to improving the housing sector and the communities it supports.

Member involvement is critical to the success of PfH.  The opinions of Member organisations, help to shape procurement for the social housing sector throughout the UK.

It is PfH's belief that the best way to provide agreements that the sector needs, is to ensure the sector is instrumental in creating them. The Advisory Committee is instrumental in advising on the direction of the consortium and researching agreements to ensure they are tailored to Members' needs.

Advisory Committee Member, Paula Chakkar, Procurement Manager at mhs homes commented, "As a "Member led" consortium, PfH will only be effective if Members willingly participate, offering their wealth of experience and knowledge to develop and nurture the supply chain required to deliver excellent value for money services to residents."

Members will be dismissed from the committee if they miss three committee meetings consecutively in any twelve month period.  Exceptional circumstances will be considered by the Chair.  It is the Member that is important to the Committee due to their skills and experience and as such substitution at meetings is not required.
