B&Q want your views on the benefits of the new e-decorating card.

5th November, 2009

B&Q are looking for your views on the development of the new B&Q e-decorating card solution. The e-decorating cards are proposed as an enhanced replacement to the paper decorating voucher scheme. The B&Q e-Decorating Card and voucher schemes work as an effective solution for providing decorating allowances for tenants and are redeemable at all of the 331 B&Q stores nationwide.

There are many features and benefits to the card. It reduces environmental impact, cards can be supplied in convenient denominations but hold no value until activated by you, thereby reducing the risk to you on storing live voucher currency. Once activated the customer can then shop at B&Q for decorating products as normal. In the event of under spend the balance will be retained on the card and can be used at a later date.

E-decorating cards have no face value, therefore, can be activated and loaded with any value. A major benefit is that the card has no perceived value and therefore reduces the risk of fraud and ensures greater security. Equally, management reports help you determine how your residents are progressing with their decoration.

Golden Gates Housing were the first to use the new B&Q e-decorating card and from satisfaction surveys tenants have given it a unanimous thumbs up. James Beacon, Golden Gates Business Manager asserted, "Instead of having to securely store thousands of pounds worth of Vouchers, we simply hold a stock of cards and when required, send a spreadsheet to B&Q.  Twenty four hours later the required number of cards are activated remotely." It's a win-win situation for both the tenant and the landlord.
