PfH Conference 2009: Collaboration: The Mother of Invention

16th July, 2009

The power of collaborative procurement is the principle on which PfH was founded. The sector has seen PfH lead huge efficiencies through collaborative procurement, but how can it be harnessed to lead to new ideas, invention and originality?

Set against the backdrop of a long-lasting downturn and deteriorating public finances, the housing sector is faced with growing efficiency and sustainability requirements coupled with the increasing demands of minimising the risks in its supply chains. PfH will examine how cooperation can nurture innovative and cost effective solutions to these challenges.

Before we reveal the topics, speakers and sessions for this year's Conference we want to share some of the feedback from last year's event. Here's what our Members said:

    • "An excellent conference professionally organised, a pleasure to attend."

    • "I am new to this field and thought it was an excellent and successful conference - I personally gained a lot of information and I look forward to future events."

    • "Several really useful meetings in the space of a few hours made it a very worthwhile day."

    • "Useful, interesting, motivating and professionally organised as usual."

    • "Very useful, made some arrangements with suppliers who attended."

    • "Excellent. Very well organised. Interesting speakers and sessions. Exhibition was very useful to meet suppliers and for networking."

We know our Members have hectic schedules and don't have much time or budget for external events. As a result we're determined that this year's conference is even more valuable, useful and informative than last year's - demonstrating the return on investment you get by attending.

So....when is it?

Tuesday 24 November 2009

Where is it?

ICC, Birmingham

"This Birmingham location and the ICC are easy to get to and have good facilities."

PfH Exhibition

Back by popular demand is PfH's Exhibition, running alongside the annual conference. Suppliers who have been appointed to PfH agreements will be showcasing their products and services, explaining to Members how each deal works and answering any questions. This is an ideal opportunity to network with other PfH Members and to catch up with suppliers during the breaks.

Again, here's what our Members thought about last year's Exhibition:

    • "It was useful for finding out the types of agreement being pursued by others and discussing options and latest thinking with suppliers."

    • "It was also good to put a face to people who I have dealt with by telephone and e-mail."

    • "I feel that it is always useful to meet and discuss issues with suppliers and to refresh relationships."

    • "Well organised, as ever, and well paced. Good to bump into old friends and make new contacts."

We will keep you updated with details of speakers and planned sessions as they are confirmed.
