PfH forges a new procurement alliance

1st February, 2012

PfH has announced that it is delighted to be one of the founder members of a new procurement alliance that will generate social outcomes as well as achieving the primary aim of creating more cost savings for over 1,000 social landlords. Alliance is a partnership between PfH, Fusion21 and the Northern Housing Consortium.

Alliance aims to overcome the duplication and complexity created by the range of consortia options available to the housing sector. It will also link procurement spend to wider community benefits such as job creation, training for disadvantaged groups and supporting local SME suppliers.

Initially, Alliance will deliver framework agreements in two areas - Retrofit and Gas Servicing. Social landlords buying through these agreements will have the chance to secure employment and training opportunities for residents and the local community. Alliance will also support a range of SME and small local suppliers to offer their services on each framework.

The first Alliance frameworks are now live through Retrofit for Housing. Gas Servicing is expected to be launched to all 1,170 members in April 2012.
