Critical insight into social housing procurement

PfH works with a wide range of Members, professional bodies and academic experts to assess procurement in the sector and identify new areas where we can help social housing become more effective.

In addition to the white papers published here, we are also developing regional strategy groups containing finance and procurement professionals from Member organisations. The groups will lead the consortium in evaluating and developing local, regional and national solutions for the social housing sector. Housing associations could be making their limited resources go further if they invested more in procurement and developed a commercial mindset, according to research in our new whitepaper.

The paper entitled ‘How can social housing providers remove the barriers to business intelligence and commercially focused procurement?’ was developed in collaboration with Affinity Sutton and The University of Liverpool and incorporates research data from 120 social housing providers across the UK.

It finds growing recognition among housing associations of the key role procurement can play in driving greater efficiency and better value for money with some 70% believing its importance is increasing. Download our white paper from the associated documents box below.
